It used to be in the verse . . . .now it is on the web.
There is a long history in our various civilisations of ‘storing’ and sharing facts & spiritual ideas in verse (and music). It occurred to me {recently} that I am not sure if we still really do that anymore . . . .is it just all on the web?
Having thought about it, there are 2 modern songs that I realised have taught me something that I did not know:
- Katie Melua - "Mary Pickford (Used To Eat Roses)" (lyrics here) – do you know where the company United Artists came from?
- Mark Knopfler - Sailing to Philadelphia - (lyrics here) – what do you know about The Mason-Dixon line?
So, have you got any good examples that have resonated with you? – let me know at info@edinteractive.co.uk
